<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>We are seeking a dynamic Science Teacher (Chemistry and/or Biology) to deliver a contemporary and engaging Science curriculum at Sheldon College within our Science Faculty.</p>
<p>Working alongside a collaborative and high-performing team of educators, you will be responsible for building student capability and confidence through the delivery of the ACARA Science Curriculum (Years 7–10) and QCAA Chemistry and/or Biology Syllabuses (Years 11–12), with a strong focus on academic excellence, engagement and wellbeing.</p>
<p>This is a full-time, fixed-term contract to the end of 2026, with a view to permanency.</p>

<p><strong>About you</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications majoring in Science and/or postgraduate qualifications in Education.</li>
<li>Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience delivering Secondary Science, ideally including QCAA Chemistry and/or Biology.</li>
<li>Proven ability to plan and deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs aligned to ACARA and QCAA requirements.</li>
<li>Experience preparing students for External Examinations, with knowledge of QCAA processes (Endorsement, Confirmation or similar) highly regarded.</li>
<li>Strong assessment and feedback practices, using evidence-based strategies to improve student engagement and academic outcomes.</li>
<li>A commitment to reflective practice, continuous improvement and maintaining currency in teaching methodologies.</li>
<li>Confidence integrating innovative and digital teaching tools to enhance learning outcomes.</li>
<li>The ability to create a safe, inclusive and academically challenging classroom environment where students feel supported to take intellectual risks.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build effective relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the wider community.</li>
<li>A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute positively to faculty and whole-school initiatives.</li>
<li>High standards of professionalism, integrity and personal presentation, with a warm and approachable teaching style.<br><br>
